Closing and Marriage Pronouncement; Recessional and Receiving Line; Sign the Marriage License

This is the end of the wedding ceremony, congratulations! The last thing I will do is present you as a married couple. Then we will decamp from the altar area and sign all the appropriate paperwork. I will present you with your copy of the marriage certificate and I will take the other and mail it to the appropriate county clerk.

Closing and Marriage Pronouncement

By the power vested in me by the Universal Life Church and State of Michigan, I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride!

First Kiss

Presentation of the Married Couple for the First Time

Friends and family let me be the first to present the married couple Bride and Groom Last Name.

Recessional and Receiving Line

Example Music: “Signed, Sealed, Delivered” – Stevie Wonder
Bride and Groom walk back up the aisle, followed by attendants. They greet all the guests for the first time as a married couple in the receiving line.

Sign the Marriage License

This is the MOST IMPORTANT part of the ceremony! This is the document that means you are married. The Bride, Groom and Officiant must sign the marriage license along with TWO witnesses. It is best to choose your two witnesses in advance. After it is signed, the Officiant (me) will mail the license to your county clerk for filing. If the Bride (or Groom!) wishes to change her last name, she should sign her NEW name on the marriage license. You may wish to practice signing a new name beforehand.
